Ryan Shrout - Founder and Principal Analyst

Ryan’s experience spans more than two decades including 5 years (2018-2023) working at Intel, serving in roles from competitive analysis, to owning client technical marketing, and driving product and positioning in the client graphics and AI division. Before that Ryan spent 18 years (2000-2018) analyzing hardware and technology as the owner of PC Perspective and 3 years (2016-2019, 2023+) as the owner of Shrout Research.

This experience has created a breadth of knowledge in nearly all fields of hardware including CPUs, GPUs, AI/NPUs, SoC design, memory systems, storage, graphics, displays and their integration into smartphones, laptops, PCs and VR/AR platforms. 

Ryan has worked independently with nearly every major technology company and their product management teams including Intel, Qualcomm, AMD, NVIDIA, Arm, MediaTek, Dell, Lenovo, Huawei, HTC, Samsung, ASUS, Oculus, Microsoft, and Adobe.

Ryan's work has been cited and quoted by numerous technology news outlets as well as in internal and public facing corporate presentations. With a focus on in-depth and real-world testing and with nearly two decades of hands-on experience, he focuses Shrout Research on bringing valuable insight on competitive analysis, consumer product expectations and real-world experience comparisons.

Ryan holds a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science from the University of Kentucky.
